unforgivably: (p ❦ dead man on campus)

"If you know how a phone works, you know what to do."
unforgivably: (cheap shots)
Damon Salvatore is a vampire. Throughout the series he is one giant trigger. Despite triggering tendencies taking a backseat, there is always a chance he will backslide. Damon has compelled a girl, fed from her and slept with her multiple times. He attacks, sometimes without warning. He rips hearts out, kidnaps, tortures. It's a wonder he's this nice, sometimes. But, Damon has bad habits, so you get this precautionary permissions post.
And because of that, you get a permissions post! Because he's a vampire, he has...

β˜“ enhanced speed, ontop of that, the ability to "appear" behind you/in rooms super quietly.
β˜“ appearing in a flash, essentially.
β˜“ the ability to jump really high
β˜“ enhanced strength
β˜“ enhanced senses (sight, smell, taste and especially hearing, vampires can hear conversations from across a room)
β˜“ when the fangs come out, his eyes go black, red-black veins protrude outward (this also happens when he's hungry)
β˜“ the ability to compel a human not on vervain - this is making eye contact and getting them to do something/say something/forget that anything happened whatsoever m
β˜“ he can manipulate a persons' dream state, especially when they're weakened, this is easier with humans
β˜“ early in the series, and through the character of lexi, it's been illustrated that some older vampires can fabricate illusions. Lexi causes Stefan to think he's been starving for years, while Damon wastes his time manipulating fog and sending a crow places. he hardly ever uses this, just making a note of it to be thorough
β˜“ a vampire can never age, and they heal faster from injuries
β˜“ his blood can also heal a human's injuries
β˜“ if he feeds you his blood and you die, you wake up in transition to become a vampire

because he's a vampire, _____ weakens/kills him...

β˜“ a vampire needs to be invited into a dwelling
β˜“ a vampire can't walk into the sunlight, but damon has a ring courtesy of a witch named emily bennett that lets him walk in the sun
β˜“ fire, a stake through the heart, sunlight, and a werewolf (or hybrid) bite are all lethal to vampires.
β˜“ vervain weakens a vampire if ingested or injected. it also burns. (but it also keeps an original vampire from being able to compel them)
β˜“ being stabbed by anything wooden is excruciating but not fatal, this is the same with wooden bullets
β˜“ feeding on animal blood makes a vampire weaker than say if they fed on human blood (which damon does, usually from a bag depending on canon point)
β˜“ older vampires are stronger but hybrids do seem to be the exception

If you would could, FILL THIS OUT

Additionally, if you would like to opt out, feel free to comment to this post and I can make sure Damon steers clear of your character, and our, keeps his worst tendencies away. Especially in a place like Duplicity where they discourage this behavior.

backtagging please, I may contact you about fading to black if I feel like something has been accomplished
threadjacking yes, but don't flood his posts
fourthwalling no thank you, except maybe through word of mouth. additionally, he is intentionally from an earlier canon-point, so please don't mention anything about him and Elena Gilbert romantically/marriage-wise.
offensive subjects mostly n/a, especially to him, but if you're worried ask/I'll let you know if there is anything.

physical affection your mileage may very.
flirting likewise, but he's an awful flirt.
fighting with consulting and planning, yes. he heals quickly, instantly
death no, other than a snapped neck to take him out of commission but not without express permission.
telepathy/psychic abilities sure, but, with planning
